Need Supply Co. posted this photo on Instagram of the Paper Polaroid I had sent them. It seriously overjoys me that they liked it!!

theparisreview:

We meet Mr Messy—a man whose entire day-to-day existence is the undiluted expression of his individuality. His very untidiness is a metaphor for his blissful and unselfconscious disregard for the Social Order. Yes, there are times when he himself is a victim of this individuality—as when he trips over a brush he has left on his garden path—but he goes through life with a smile on his face.

This series of reviews from 2010 is, in a word, brilliant.

Our friendship is special.

The Golden Girls,

The Perfect Strangers,

Laverne and Shirley,

And all the inhabitants

Of Gilligan’s Island

Have formed an Island

At the far end

Of the bar’s end

Attempting to plan and scheme

Their way off their tiny anthill

Somewhere in the Pacific

Just to catch a glimpse

Of our towering skyscrapers of love

On what appears to be

Pangea.

Fuck three hour tours because

We are light years ahead of them.

And their coconuts?

They can keep their coconuts

Because we are sipping piña coladas

From punch bowls

With our legs crossed

At the ankles

Poolside

On the cool side

Of a hotel that more

Closely resembles

A chandelier.

Our laughter is the rainbow

That is cast on the wall

When the sunlight strikes our

Crystal teeth

And the cat

That naps

In the lobby

Mistakes for a neon moth.

It’s too high up on the wall

To attempt a swat

So it just stares at it

Wagging its tail

Before gently shutting its eyes

Hoping to merely dream

Of what our friendship tastes like.

We are

Red, orange, yellow,

Green, blue,

Indigo and the most

Violent violet

That ever silenced

Those thunder clouds

And made way

For another beautiful day.

Every day

Is a beautiful day.

It is

For us

Anyways.
